Pope Francis addressed the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
During an address to the flock on Sunday, the pontiff expressed concern over the nuclear threat and the escalation in Ukraine. He also expressed regret over the annexation of four new regions to Russia. The Pope’s words are quoted by the Vatican News.
“After seven months of conflict, let’s use all diplomatic means,” the pontiff told the leaders. Francis, in order to put an end to the opposition, called for the use of measures that “perhaps have not yet been used.”
