The North-West Russia judo championship among juniors and junior women under 23 ended in Syktyvkar. Judoists from seven regions of the country competed for the title of the strongest and the right to represent the Northwestern Federal District in the finals of the national championship. This was reported by the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region.

The northerners have two medals to their credit. In the weight category up to 100 kg, Andrey Baryshevsky became the silver medalist of the competition. Yaroslav Romanov won bronze in the up to 81 kg weight category.

“Based on the results of the competition, judoist of the Olympic Reserve Sports School “Pomorie” Andrei Baryshevsky won a ticket to the finals of the Russian Championship, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk at the end of April,” said Vladimir Elagin, president of the Arkhangelsk Region Judo Federation and personal trainer of athletes.
