A poll commissioned by NBC News showed that US President Joe Biden could lose the election to any candidate from the Republican Party. If Biden becomes the official Democratic nominee, then only 41% of voters will be ready to cast their vote for him in the elections in 2024. At the same time, 47% of respondents declared their readiness to vote for a candidate from the Republican Party, who has yet to be determined. The rest announced their intention to vote for an independent candidate or have not yet decided on their choice.
In addition, only 41% of survey participants approve of Biden’s performance as president, while 54% disapprove. These figures reflect the rating of the American president, which continues to fall. In January 2021, Biden’s performance was 45% approved and 50% disapproved.
The US presidential election will take place in November 2024. Last year, former President Donald Trump announced that he intends to run for the presidency for a second term. Biden also announced his intention to participate in the elections, but his candidacy from the Democratic Party has not yet been officially announced, he has practically no competitors within the party.
According to the poll, the most popular candidate from the Republican Party is Donald Trump, for whom 46% of Republicans are ready to vote in the elections. It is followed by Florida Gov. Ron De Santis with 31% and former Trump Vice President Mike Pence with 6%. Pence has yet to announce his intention to run for the presidency.
