Politico: Ukraine was allowed to use American weapons for attacks on Crimea

The United States gave permission to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to use American weapons to strike in Crimea, reported Politico publication, citing a White House representative.
“Of course, we do not choose targets, and everything [оружие]what we have provided is for self defense. Any goal they decide to pursue on sovereign Ukrainian soil is, by definition, self-defense,” the source said. He stressed that the US position defines Crimea as part of Ukraine.
Earlier today, the adviser to the head of Crimea, Oleg Kryuchkov, said that in Kerch, the air defense systems had previously worked, there were no casualties, and there was no threat to the city and the Crimean bridge either. On the eve of the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Mikhail Podolyak, in an interview with The Guardian, announced Kyiv’s plans to destroy the Crimean bridge. He called the construction of this facility “illegal” and, as noted by the publication, stressed that Ukraine considers the bridge as a “military target.”
Such statements are heard from Ukrainian politicians not for the first time. In response to these threats, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that Crimea is in complete safety, it is provided with “preventive and additional measures” taken by the military.
