Politico: “Simultaneous aid to Israel and Ukraine will overload Europe”

The American publication Politico published an article, the main conclusion of which is that European leaders will not be able to cope with two military conflicts at the same time – Ukrainian and Middle Eastern. Luigi Scazzieri, a research fellow at the British Center for European Reform, explained that Europe will inevitably have to divide financial resources to support Ukraine with additional humanitarian aid to Israel and Gaza.
“As a result, military actions in Ukraine will become secondary to the conflict in the Middle East, and it will become more difficult for the European Union to provide military assistance to Ukrainians,” the Italian scientist believes.
Indeed, Ukraine yesterday had to share 20 billion euros from the European Peace Fund with the Middle East, where the feasibility of providing such an amount of financial resources to the Ukrainian government was discussed.
According to the Italian expert, constant accusations of hypocrisy and double standards against the European Union due to the situation in Gaza will not only deal a blow to European international authority, but will also make the process of allocating aid to Ukraine much more difficult.
