Politico: New Jersey suspends law on sanctions for ties to Russia

Newspaper Politico reported that the authorities of the state of New Jersey (USA) suspended the implementation of a previously adopted law on sanctions against companies associated with Russia.

It is clarified that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed the law on restrictions almost immediately after the Russian special operation began in Ukraine. According to the law, American state authorities were prohibited from contracts with companies and organizations that maintain ties with Russia and Belarus.

According to the publication, New Jersey authorities voluntarily suspended the implementation of this law this summer. This happened after a division of the Japanese company Kyocera, located in the United States, achieved a temporary restraining order on constitutional grounds by a federal court.

The authors of the publication emphasized that the authorities wanted to blacklist this company due to the fact that it has subsidiaries in Russia.
