A group of European states wants to create a coalition to put pressure on Germany to supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. As it became known to Politico, Berlin must also allow third countries to send German-made tanks to Kyiv.
It is known that the authorities of 12 countries decided to transfer Leopard 2 combat vehicles to Ukraine. They complained that they were feeling dissatisfied with the policy of the FRG. More precisely, the decision to link the transfer of German equipment with US deliveries of the Abrams tank.
The first steps in terms of diplomatic pressure on Germany will be taken on January 20 at a ministerial meeting in the Ramstein format. The summit will discuss further assistance to Kyiv.
Formerly British General Richard Shirreff declaredthat the German Leopard 2 tanks are better suited to the Armed Forces than the American Abrams. American technology is very complex in terms of logistics.
