Politician Gennady Gudkov* included in the list of extremists and terrorists

Rosfinmonitoring included former State Duma deputy Gennady Gudkov (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) in the list of extremists and terrorists. In addition to the politician, registry the Ukrainian battalion “Aidar” was included (recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited).

Gennady Gudkov (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) was a deputy of the State Duma of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth convocations from 2001 to 2012. He has been living in Bulgaria since 2021. In 2022, in Poland, together with former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev and lawyer Mark Feigin (both recognized as foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice), he created the non-governmental organization “Congress of People’s Deputies” (recognized as undesirable in Russia).

In March 2023, the Ministry of Justice admitted Mr. Gudkov as a foreign agent. According to the department, the former deputy spoke negatively about the Russian army, called for the provision of weapons to Ukraine, openly supporting it. Also, the reason for inclusion in the list was his participation in the creation of materials by foreign agents and “the dissemination of false information about the decisions of the Russian authorities through foreign publications.”
