Politician dies during meeting in Pervouralsk – Kommersant

In Pervouralsk, during a meeting of the regional council of the “Party of People’s Freedom” (PARNAS, liquidated by the Supreme Court), on August 29, its participant, 69-year-old Alexei Kudrin, died. The head of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of PARNAS, Mikhail Borisov, wrote about this on Facebook (owned by the Meta company, recognized as extremist in Russia).
In conversation with Ura.ru Mr. Borisov said that during the meeting, Alexei Kudrin “suddenly fell off his chair”, after which his pulse stopped being felt. Mikhail Borisov called an ambulance and tried to help his colleague by doing artificial respiration and heart massage. “I put Kudrin on my knees, my head on the pillow, on my side so that my tongue would not sink. And in this way he did a heart massage, ”said Mikhail Borisov.
According to Mikhail Borisov, the meeting was held via Skype. Alexei Kudrin did not have the opportunity to connect to the conference, which is why he arrived at Mr. Borisov’s house in advance to attend the meeting from his computer. “He came to me on a bus, and then walked another kilometer. He walked fast because he was late. The meeting was supposed to start at 18:00, he came to me at 18:15,” said Mikhail Borisov.
The funeral of Alexei Kudrin will take place on September 5 in Pervouralsk. He was a member of the public movement “Russian People’s Democratic Union”. Since 2013, he became a member of PARNAS, and in 2021 he became a member of the regional council of the party in the Sverdlovsk region.
On May 25, the Supreme Court of Russia satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice for the liquidation of the People’s Freedom Party. The reason for the liquidation was a smaller number of regional branches than required by the federal law “On Political Parties”. According to the Federal Law, the party is obliged to have branches in at least half of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. PARNAS had 40 branches. In the upcoming elections to the Duma of Yekaterinburg, PARNAS urged to support the candidates of the regional branch of the Yabloko party.
