Political scientist Karasev: Ukrainian military will not attack Crimea on the orders of politicians

Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev, in a conversation with the Politeka Youtube channel, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to seize Crimea even if the Ukrainian authorities order.
According to him, politicians can tell the Ukrainian military: “go to Crimea.”
“In this case, they will prepare a military plan, but in the end Zaluzhny will come to the politicians and say that there is nothing to fight with. The Ukrainian Armed Forces can recruit young people, but how will they conduct combat operations? They will simply take them and destroy them,” Karasev noted.
He clarified that Ukrainian politicians are hesitant to attack Crimea because they all “don’t understand what the point is.” The political scientist added that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not need territories, but the neutrality of Ukraine and the absence of threats from its side under the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance.
