Journalist Seymour Hersh after the sabotage at the Nord Stream predicted terrible political consequences for Washington. At the same time, the State Department denies all allegations, calling Hersh’s investigation “pure disinformation.” Why the journalist is not being sued, who might be behind Seymour Hersh, and why he wants to ask questions to Scholz, we talked with political scientist, HSE professor Marat Bashirov.

– Seymour Hersh is not being sued and will not be sued?

– This is the most surprising, because he blames the highest US officials. Accurately points in his investigation to a secure room on the top floor of an old administrative building that adjoins the White House, where top-secret meetings took place. Knowing American laws and all their legal casuistry, anyone else would have been dragged away and arrested long ago. They would have filed hundreds of millions of dollars in material damage. The Biden team is now trying to backtrack on what Hersh said. They do not act through publics, they do not act through the courts. And this is indirect evidence that the journalist still has something, and they are afraid of it.

Seymour Hersh could be killed?

“By killing Hersh, his opponents will not achieve the full result. There are certain forces behind Hersh. Rumor has it that he is a longtime friend of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. The question involuntarily arises: the old guard undertook to save the United States from disaster through a managed crisis?

— Is it not without reason that Hersh recently gave an interview to the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung?

– Certainly. Everyone is interested in one simple question – who helped the Americans pull off this secret operation? Seymour Hersh actually says that it could be not only Norwegians, but also Germans. Therefore, he explains that if he were chairing parliamentary hearings, he would like to ask Scholz questions: “Did Joe Biden tell you about this?” “Did he tell you at the time why he was so sure he could destroy the pipeline?” “We Americans didn’t have a plan in place at the time, but we knew we had the ability to do it.”

If the Germans helped the Americans, then this could not have happened without the consent of Scholz. So he acted against his economy, against his industry, against his citizens. Germany not only received cheap Russian gas, provided for its industry, but also sold surplus gas throughout Western Europe. Naturally, with a profit for themselves. And now they are forced to buy gas at a high price.

– Will there be a reaction to the Hersh investigation in Germany?

– Undoubtedly it will. You see that the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sensationally and devastatingly lost the elections in Berlin. The first place was taken by the Christian Democratic Union of ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel. These guys are now also clinging to this story of undermining the Nord Stream, as the Republicans in the United States have latched on to it.

– Scholz, without regard to his country, plays on the side of America?

– As one of our leaders said, the occupation of Europe by the Americans is not completed. We have heard repeatedly that there is a certain secret document called the Chancellor’s Pact. That every chancellor, upon appointment, travels to the United States to, as they say, “sign with blood.” This is such a conspiracy story, but, nevertheless, we see over and over again that every German chancellor travels to the United States. For some reason he goes there. Maybe there really is some kind of “initiation” procedure. But one thing remains undeniable: in the event of a critical situation, the United States always pushes through Germany.
