Kursk governor announced the shelling of two border areas

Two districts of the Kursk region came under fire from Ukraine, arrivals disrupted electricity supply and damaged a gas distribution station, regional governor Roman Starovoit said on Saturday.

According to him, five arrivals were recorded in the morning near the village of Gornal, Sudzhansky district. “Here, fortunately, there were no casualties or damage.” wrote the head of the region in his Telegram channel.

In addition, two shells each fell in the vicinity of the village of Elizavetovka and near the substation of the village of Popovo-Lezhachi, Glushkovsky district. The authorities specified that no one was injured as a result of the shelling, but the power supply to the village of Krasnooktyabrsky and the village of Volfino was disrupted, and the gas distribution station was damaged in Elizavetovka. Emergency crews have begun repairs, Starovoit added.

February 17 Governor informed about the shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of the villages of Gornal and Guevo, then at least 15 shells fell in the vicinity of the settlements, but there were no casualties or destruction. On February 13, Starovoit stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the village of Alekseevka, as a result of which the settlement was left without electricity. Before that, as a result of the shelling of Guevo died one person from the construction team, another was injured.

Since February 4, a “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat has been in effect in the region, which has been extended for an indefinite period. On January 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin lifted the time limit for introducing terrorist threat levels in the Russian Federation. Before the restriction was lifted, it could be set for a period of no more than 15 days, now the decision to introduce a threat level becomes indefinite and is valid until it is canceled.
