The press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that the Prolian authorities three times over the past week tried to force animals into Belarusian territory through the gates for the passage of animals in the fence at the border. The barrier wall was built by the Polish side last year after numerous attempts to enter the country by migrants from Africa and the Middle East heading for Europe.
“Over the past week, the Polish military continued their attempts to force refugees into Belarus through the gates in the fence,” the State Border Committee reports. At the same time, the Belarusian border guards specify that the Polish security forces use pepper gas to those refugees who refuse to leave for the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
Judging by the report, only during the past week the number of migrants, from whom the Polish authorities tried to get rid of in this way, reached 11 people.
Passages for wild animals were created in the barrier wall due to the fact that the state border in this place crosses the territory of the natural complex Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
