Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced his intention to visit Germany in order to convince German politicians to provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks.
“Today I will talk with German politicians of various options on the topic of transferring tanks to Ukraine,” the politician said before leaving Germany.
Morawiecki said he expected Berlin to hand over a significant number of tanks to Kyiv.
Last week, Polish President Andrzej Duda, during a visit to Lviv, said that Warsaw intends to transfer a company of Leopard tanks to Kyiv as part of an international coalition.
In turn, Morawiecki clarified that in order to transfer tanks to Ukraine, Poland must obtain permission from Germany. At the same time, he expressed confidence that he would eventually give his consent to Berlin.
