Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki accused of economic treason

The Prime Minister of Poland complained to the prosecutor’s office. An application to the head of the country’s cabinet of ministers was written by representatives of the Left party. This was informed by the chairman of the faction of the party Krzysztof Galkowski.
The claims of the “Lefts” against Morawiecki are connected with the lack of actions on his part to receive significant amounts of money into the Polish economy. Previously, they turned to the Prime Minister with a demand to obtain money from the European Union for a national recovery program after the pandemic.
In June 2022, the European Commission approved the Polish National Recovery Plan. It provides for the allocation of 22 billion euros of non-repayable subsidies and about 11 billion euros of cheap loans. But then the payments were frozen. The European Commission demanded to fulfill its requirements regarding the independence of the Polish judiciary before the allocation of funds.
The “leftists” claim that Warsaw cannot use the money due to it for 850 days. According to Galkovsky, Poland is the only EU country that pays heavy fines imposed by the EU court and the European Commission, but has not officially applied for financial support. The leader of the “Left” called the prime minister’s inaction an infringement of state interests and treason.
Earlier in the European Union there were fierce disputes when discussing the new budget of the organization. Initially, it was supposed to increase by 86 billion euros. But then some countries offered to moderate appetites due to unfavorable economic conditions. In this case, the financing of Ukraine may also be at risk.
