Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s scheduled visit to Poland on August 8 was canceled due to the fact that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki “does not have time” to meet with him, about this reported Bloomberg agency, citing sources. It is specified that the trip to Poland was supposed to be part of the farewell meetings of the resigned Johnson with world leaders.

The UK and Poland have been discussing several possible dates for the meeting of politicians and have tentatively agreed to hold it on Monday 8 August in Warsaw. The interlocutors of the publication also noted that Morawiecki is unlikely to be able to find time for this meeting in September, when Johnson finally leaves his post.

The agency also said that Johnson’s office has also approached the White House to arrange a final phone call with US President Joe Biden, but a time has not yet been agreed upon. Johnson also hopes to have a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron this week.

On July 7, Johnson left the post of Prime Minister of Great Britain and the position of leader of the Conservative Party due to scandals and “protest” dismissals of 11 ministers and several dozen high-ranking British officials. Johnson personally submitted his resignation. The name of the new prime minister will be known only on September 5. Former Treasury Secretary Rishi Sunak and Foreign Minister Liz Truss made it to the finals.
