Polish Foreign Ministry threatened Germany with international isolation

Germany will fall into international isolation if it does not agree to supply tanks to Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Arkadiusz Mulyarchik to Polish Radio.
“It should be understood that Germany, not agreeing to send tanks to Ukraine, finds itself in international isolation. If they continue to adhere to this position, then their position will be extremely weak, ”said the diplomat (quote according to RIA Novosti).
According to Mulyarchik, “a big game is being played,” which concerns not only the conflict in Ukraine, but also US influence in Europe. He noted that France and Germany “understand this well.”
Pressure on Germany from the United States and a number of other EU countries intensified before the meeting of the heads of defense ministries of NATO member countries at the American base in Ramstein, Germany, on January 20. It was expected that a decision could be made on the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv, but to agree with Germany on this again failed. Prior to this, Germany has repeatedly refused to send tanks to Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki criticized position of Germany and stated that Poland was ready to donate part of its modern weapons without the participation of the FRG. Later, the German Foreign Ministry said that they would not interfere if Warsaw supplied Kyiv with its Leopard 2 tanks.
Meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ramstein called “provocative incitement” and “raising the stakes in the conflict”. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that such actions could lead to an increase in casualties and an escalation of the conflict.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov notedthat the possible sending of heavy tanks to Ukraine would have negative consequences. At the same time, arms deliveries will not fundamentally change the situation, but they will “add problems” for Ukraine, he added.
