Police officers who put the wife of billionaire Kirill Shamalov on the wanted list may be punished

The court in Moscow issued a private ruling against employees of the Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

In the Presnensky Court, when considering the complaint of Zhanna Shamalova’s representative against the actions of police officers, the judge was forced to turn to the head of the Moscow police department. A private resolution was issued in the name of Oleg Baranov because of the employees of the Department of Inquiry.

Recall that at the end of July 2021, Kirill Shamalov filed a lawsuit with the Khamovniki Court demanding that his marriage to Zhanna Shamalova (before Volkov’s marriage) be declared invalid. The author of the document indicated that the wife entered into a marriage with him solely for the purpose of obtaining property benefits: according to the marriage contract, in the event of a divorce, the businessman must transfer a large amount of dollars to the chosen one.

The scandal in the family of the oligarch developed, as the couple had a child, but the surrogate mother, who later gave birth to the girl, disappeared. Zhanna Shamalova gave an interview to Ksenia Sobchak and wrote a number of statements to law enforcement agencies, including a journalist. In four instances, the courts refused to recognize the Shamalovs’ marriage as fictitious, but the daughter from a surrogate mother, as it turned out, had been with the billionaire all this time.

As the representative of Zhanna Shamalova, lawyer Georgy Chuguashvili, told MK, in the Presnensky District Court of Moscow, no one presented materials on the basis of which the woman was put on the wanted list.

– The question arises, were they, these materials of the case, in general? The question is rhetorical, but in fact the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ignore not only us, but also ignored the court! Apparently, our procedural opponents did not expect that Zhanna Shamalova would appeal against her illegal persecution, since she permanently lives outside the Russian Federation, but we will not stop and will seek to bring to justice everyone who in one way or another took advantage of their position, ”the interlocutor was indignant .

From a private resolution (available to the editors) it follows that Themis requested the case file three times to confirm the validity of the policemen’s arguments, but each time the requests remained unanswered. As a result, the court saw a gross violation of the rights and freedoms of Zhanna Shamalova in the actions of the employees of the Office of the Organization of Inquiry. The corresponding resolution was recently sent to the head of the capital’s central office, Oleg Baranov. Now, according to the logic of things, an internal check should be opened in relation to inactive employees, and the case itself should be put under the control of the leadership of the capital’s central office.

As Zhanna Shamalova herself shared with MK, for almost a year and a half (the criminal case was initiated on March 16, 2022) there have been no attempts from the investigation to investigate the case. According to her, not only does no one call her to participate in investigative actions, but even when she herself instructs lawyers to contact the investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Arbat district, everyone there “runs” and “shy away” from her representatives.
