Police detained a girl from Bryansk who burned her passport on video

Law enforcement officers detained a girl who was shown on video burning her Russian passport on New Year’s Eve. The girl will remain in custody until the court hearing. The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Bryansk region reported this to TASS.
“She has been detained. He will be in custody until the court hearing,” the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. If the girl is found guilty, she faces a fine. For the deliberate destruction of a passport (Article 19.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), a fine of up to 300 rubles may be imposed. Demonstration of burning a passport online can be regarded as petty hooliganism (Part 3 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles can be imposed for this.
According to the Baza Telegram channel, the girl burning her passport in the video is Evgenia Hoffman. Later, as Baza reports, the girl stated that the burned document was old and invalid, because she had recently received a new passport. The girl stated that there was no subtext in her actions and that she burned the document “for fun” because there was an “ugly” photograph there.

As a result, in December the court arrested until January 24, 2024 under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and insulting the feelings of believers (Article 149 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
