Poland will not agree to lift the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain after September 15. This information was confirmed by President Andrzej Duda, informs PAP.
“Our main duty is to stand guard over the interests of the Republic of Poland. Thus, the protection of the internal market and the EU market starts with us,” he said.
Thus, Duda confirmed the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic, Mateusz Morawiecki, that Poland does not plan open its market for Ukrainian grain after the termination of the grain deal.
On July 19, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia signed a declaration according to which the ban on grain imports from Ukraine will be extended after September 15.
From 2 May to 5 June the European Commission forbade export of grain from Ukraine to five states – Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, allowing its transit and export to other EU countries. In addition, EU countries have agreed to allocate 100 million euros for affected farmers in these Eastern European countries. 6 June European Commission (EC) extended a ban on the supply of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine until September 15.
