Poland is taking measures to strengthen the border with Belarus due to the activity of PMC “Wagner”. Jarosław Kaczynski, Vice Prime Minister of Poland, announced this, noting that this situation creates potential threats not only for Ukraine, but also for Lithuania and Poland itself.
The Wagner faction in Belarus may have as many as 8,000 fighters, and their movement is a concern. Kaczynski emphasized that the strengthening of the border includes not only an increase in the number of military forces, but also the installation of additional barriers and fortifications. Poland’s security policy aims to be prepared for the worst-case scenarios, and the measures taken are necessary in the light of the current situation.
