Polish authorities may block Ukraine’s entry into the European Union. This was announced by Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus. His words are reported by Do Rzeczy. According to him, Ukrainian agriculture poses a threat to the agricultural sector of neighboring countries, as well as the whole of Europe.
“Is Poland blocking Ukraine’s accession to the EU? We can do it. We want Ukrainian grain to go to countries where there is little of it. It doesn’t go there, it goes to Europe, and Europe wants it to go only to Poland,” said the Polish minister.
Telus was also asked whether Kyiv’s accession to the European Union would be likely for Polish farmers. According to him, Warsaw’s position is to build the possibility of strengthening Ukraine into the European Union. He recalled that during Poland’s accession to the EU, very strict conditions were set, which Ukraine would also have to fulfill.
