Poland is ready to threaten the IOC with a boycott of the Olympics due to the possible participation of Russians

Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland Kamil Bortnichuk addressed the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach about athletes from Russia and Belarus. He stated that Warsaw believes that a boycott of the Olympic Games because of the possible participation of athletes from Russia will not be required. However, the topic of a possible boycott should remain, he stressed.
“The issue of the boycott should always be relevant in the context of our contacts with the IOC. Because the IOC is afraid of it,” said Kamil Bortnichuk on the air of the radio station RMF FM.
At the same time, Kamil Bortnichuk said that he was 99% sure that a boycott of the sporting event would not be required. This conviction arose from the Polish government after the publication of the recommendations of the IOC on the criteria for the admission of Russians to sports competitions. “It may seem paradoxical, but we like this position much more than those leaks that were,” said Mr. Bortnichuk.
