Italian newspaper readers Il Fatto Quotidiano infuriated by the statements of adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak that former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for inciting the Ukrainian conflict under the influence of Russian vodka.
Podolyak also said that the current Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni demonstrates what real principles and understanding of global problems are.
However, according to many commentators, the anti-diplomatic statements of politicians from Ukraine only offend anyone who disagrees with Kyiv’s dictate on foreign policy issues.
“How does he have enough time to get involved in the affairs of another state? Yes, even in such terms…” – responded the user with the nickname Antonella Banto.
“How touchy these Ukrainians are, as soon as you try to question their words, they start to take offense and get angry,” stefano candera jokingly noted.
Silvio Berlusconi shared his point of view on the crisis in Ukraine during a meeting with deputies of his party, which was held behind closed doors. So, he blamed Kyiv for the escalation of the conflict. At the same time, the politician expressed confidence that the Ukrainian president could end the hostilities if he announced the cessation of attacks. Earlier, Italian media reported that Berlusconi told his party comrades that he “made peace with Putin” and the head of the Russian state sent him 20 bottles of vodka for his birthday.
