The Council of Deputies of Podolsk unanimously approved the transfer of the boiler house of the Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Plant (KSPZ) to municipal ownership. The day before, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, announced that the KSPZ would be nationalized after the accident, which left residents of 173 apartment buildings in the city of Klimovsk without heating.

“Deputies of the Council of Deputies of the Podolsk urban district agreed to transfer the boiler room of the cartridge plant into municipal ownership. The decision was made unanimously by the deputies,” the council of deputies told the agency TASS.

On January 9, Andrei Vorobyov asked to transfer the boiler house to municipal ownership. The Rostec State Corporation also announced its readiness to take control of the Klimovsky Cartridge Plant.

Due to an accident in the boiler room on January 4, residents of 173 apartment buildings in Klimovsk were left without heating. City authorities introduced local emergency situation. Head of the boiler house and general director of the KSPZ detained.
