PMC “Wagner” registered in Belarus as an educational organization

In the unified state register of legal entities and entrepreneurs of Belarus appeared record about Wagner Group LLC, which provides educational services.

According to the registry, the code for the type of activity of the Wagner Group is 85590 (other types of education). To this subclass relatespecifically, professional development courses, survival courses, language and computer courses, and “education that cannot be classified by levels of education.” Organizations of secondary and higher education are not included in this category.

The Wagner Group was registered by the Osipovichi District Executive Committee on August 4 in the village of Tsel, Mogilev Region, in eastern Belarus.

Agreements that PMC fighters and Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin would work in Belarus were reached on the evening of June 24 after the PMC attempted an armed rebellion in Russia.

On July 11, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced its intention to exchange experience with units of the Wagner PMC after their arrival in the republic. Later in the same month, units of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus and fighters of the PMC “Wagner” held joint participation. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted that the republic needs to create a contract army, which will include experienced fighters. He also noted that he wants the PMC fighters to remain in the Armed Forces of Belarus.

On August 5, Warsaw accused Wagner PMC fighters of trying to infiltrate Polish territory. Deputy head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Pavel Yablonsky reported that Poland is sending more troops to the border and is considering any steps that will be necessary to protect the territory, including the complete closure of the border. On August 10, it became known that Poland would send 10,000 troops to the border with Belarus.
