PMC: Shabutdinov does not complain about the conditions in the pre-trial detention center and reads Remarque

Blogger Ayaz Shabutdinov, arrested in a fraud case, has no complaints about the conditions of detention in the pre-trial detention center, and is busy reading the work of Erich Maria Remarque, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Alexei Melnikov, executive secretary of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, member of the Human Rights Council of the Russian Federation.

Melnikov visited Shabutdinov on Saturday. Earlier, the Tagansky Court of Moscow chose a preventive measure against the blogger in the form of detention until December 16. At the same time, the defense asked that Shabutdinov be given house arrest or a bail of 4 million rubles. The blogger himself asked to be given the opportunity to stay with his children and common-law wife. The defense intends to appeal the court’s decision.

Melnikov said that Shabutdinov is in a four-bed cell.

“I didn’t complain about the conditions of detention. In a personal conversation with members of the Moscow Public Monitoring Committee, Shabutdinov said that he was holding on,” he said.

Let us recall that Ayaz Shabutdinov sold trainings, webinars and other courses, and at the same time claimed that buyers would get rich thanks to educational programs. But everything turned out not quite as the business coach claimed. As a result, as the investigation suggests, citizens entered into contracts with him for amounts ranging from 100 thousand rubles to 1.9 million rubles. The case against the blogger and business coach was initiated at the request of Natalya Kalistratova, who had been trying to return money for training for the fourth year.
