PMC of Moscow: a draft law on parole for convicted teenagers is being prepared

The head of the Public Monitoring Commission of the POC) of Moscow, Georgy Volkov, announced on Saturday the preparation of a bill on the right of convicted teenagers to be released on parole upon reaching the age of majority.
Volkov told reporters about this. The PMC of Moscow reported that they visited minors in Moscow pre-trial detention centers on the eve of the New Year. Volkov reminded the teenagers that even within the walls of the detention center they can get a basic school education and pass the unified state exam.
The human rights activists congratulated the arrested children and teenagers on the upcoming holiday and handed them sets of sweets, developing books, toys, construction sets and other gifts, said Alexei Melnikov, a member of the Human Rights Council, the secretary of the PMC.
