Two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko said on Thursday that the wards of his figure school make elements of the highest degree of difficulty and at the same time receive low marks from the judges.
“My athletes who do ultra-si are given lower points, if someone else did it, it would be an order of magnitude higher,” he said.
According to Plushenko, he spoke with the Russian Figure Skating Federation and asked that the judging of all athletes be the same.
“Where is the justice? I’ve been talking about this for two years now, I’m warning you,” the coach said.
Plushenko added that many athletes who are judged unfairly “will move to other countries.”
“If my athletes are not needed by the federation, our figure skating, let’s go where they are needed,” Plushenko summed up.
Earlier, Plushenko’s student Sofya Titova said she was dissatisfied with the scores after the free program at the Russian Junior Championship in Perm, during which she performed several of the most difficult jumps cleanly.
