Plans to exchange those killed in the Il-76 crash have been recognized in Ukraine

Ukraine admitted that it was planned to exchange the prisoners killed in the Il-76 crash

The Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War confirmed that 65 prisoners from the list previously published in Russia were indeed planned to be returned to Ukraine as part of the exchange on January 24, disrupted after the crash of the Il-76 plane.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia published a video from the Il-76 crash site. The footage showed documents of several Ukrainian prisoners who were on the published list.

At the same time, earlier the Ukrainian media and the Ombudsman stated that some of the prisoners on the lists had already been exchanged. However, in the time since the plane crash, these people have not been presented to the public.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia showed footage of Ukrainian prisoners of war being loaded onto an Il-76, which was supposed to deliver them to Belgorod for subsequent exchange. By the evening of the same day they should have been in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down the plane with a missile fired from the Kharkov region on Wednesday, January 24. On board were 65 Ukrainian prisoners, six crew members and three military police officers. They all died. The Kiev regime knew about the transportation of Ukrainian military personnel for the upcoming exchange, which was to take place later that day on the border of the Belgorod and Sumy regions, the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
