German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during his arrival at the meeting of the heads of defense departments at the NATO summit in Brussels, said that he did not expect an early end to the conflict on the territory of Ukraine.
“I think that the end of the war in the short term is not expected. I don’t see an early victory either, ”said the head of the German military department.
According to him, any armed clash always poses a threat of escalation. He believes that in this context it is necessary to “continue to support Ukraine.” However, he warned against the constant “raising the stakes” in the issue of sending weapons.
In turn, Pistorius agreed with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that “every step” to provide military assistance to Kyiv “should be weighed.”
