Pink Floyd founder Waters called attempts to cancel Russian culture “idiocy”

One of the founders of the British rock band Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, said that attempts to abolish Russian culture in the West are insane.
“This is complete idiocy. And it just shows how the brains of these people work,” the performer emphasized. He added that he didn’t see the benefit of banning concerts that featured Tchaikovsky’s music, or telling people “they can’t read Dostoyevsky.”
Earlier in August, the musician, in an interview with CNN, called US President Joe Biden a war criminal who is responsible for aggravating the conflict in Ukraine. Later, the creators of the infamous Ukrainian nationalist website “Peacemaker” added the ex-leader of Pink Floyd to their database.
Meanwhile, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in August also touched upon the issue of the West’s attempt to “cancel Russian culture”. According to him, all these attempts are futile. And those who think otherwise, “unfortunately for them, have not learned the lessons of history.”
