Bi-2 musicians showed photos from prison in Thailand
The Bi-2 group published photographs from their recent tour to Thailand, which ended in two arrests and extradition. As previously reported, the artists were initially detained on charges of an illegal concert; after paying a fine, the group was detained again for violating immigration laws. The musicians insisted that they complied with all the laws of the country and blamed the Russian authorities for the current situation. In Russia there were calls to extradite the artists to the Russian Federation, where they were accused of lack of patriotism, but in the end the group flew to Israel.
A photo from prison was published on social networks by the frontman of Lev’s team (Egor Bortnik, included in the Russian Federation’s register of foreign agents). In the footage, the musicians pose for the camera, depicting a scene from the film “Gentlemen of Fortune.”
A video of a trip in a Thai paddy wagon and the fingerprinting procedure was also published.
According to Leva, the indoor footage was filmed in a Phuket prison after the group was first detained. After the re-arrest of the musicians and their transfer to a Bangkok prison, it was reported that, at least for some time, the artists were in an open-air cell, in which there was no shelter from the heat. From Bangkok, according to Leva, there are no photographs, since the phones were confiscated there and only a video of the “stage” was filmed.
The leader of the group accompanied the publication of the footage with the phrase that “the main value of Bi-2 was and remains freedom,” and promised fans a quick meeting at concerts.
