Petr Biryukov: the action “Christmas tree cycle” will be held in Moscow from January 2 to February 26

From January 2 to February 26, 2023, the Christmas Tree Cycle campaign will take place in Moscow. It was announced by the deputy mayor of the capital Petr Biryukov.
He recalled that the action will be held for the eighth time, and its popularity among the townspeople is steadily growing. The authorities decided to help the population competently dispose of trees and draw the attention of Muscovites to the program of separate waste collection.
Petr Biryukov said that 600 points for receiving coniferous trees will open in all administrative districts of the capital, the location of which was chosen by the residents of the capital during the voting in the Active Citizen project.
“Last year, as part of the Christmas Tree Cycle, citizens handed over a record number of Christmas trees for recycling – about 49 thousand, we expect that this time the figure will be even higher. Trees are accepted free of charge, the obligatory condition is the absence of tinsel and decorations,” Biryukov emphasized.
He added that wood chips are made from recycled trees, which are then used for sprinkling in aviary complexes and arranging ecological paths.
