The parliamentary faction of United Russia proposed to ban the passage of electric scooters on sidewalks less than two meters wide. On behalf of the party, this idea was expressed by Alexei Tsivilev, Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Transport and the Development of Transport Infrastructure of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly of United Russia. The commission supported its chairman.
On meeting a decision was also signed to create a working group on the regulatory regulation of personal mobility aids (IM) in St. Petersburg, which included United Russia Alexei Tsivilev, his colleague on the committee and the party Natalia Astakhova and vice speaker of the legislative assembly Pavel Itkin.
Earlier, changes in the rules of the road came into force in Russia, according to which the movement on sidewalks on scooters is allowed provided that the speed of the device does not exceed 25 km/h, and its weight is 35 kg. Deputy Tsivilev called it “the murder of pedestrians.” Under current legislation, regional deputies themselves can choose restrictions: from reducing speed to 5 km / h to a complete ban on movement in certain areas. Restrictions are set under agreements with kicksharing companies.
