Peskov: Xi Jinping did not talk about Putin’s participation in the elections in 2024

Chinese President Xi Jinping has not said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the elections in 2024, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. writes TASS. He expressed confidence that the citizens of Russia would support Putin – and this confidence can only be shared, the Kremlin spokesman added.

“Chairman Xi [Цзиньпин] did not say that Putin would participate in the elections. President Xi expressed confidence that the Russians would support Putin, and here one can only share his confidence,” Peskov said.

After landing in Moscow, he expressed confidence that his working trip will be fruitful and “will give new impetus to the healthy and stable development of Sino-Russian relations.” Xi Jinping stressed that Russia and China are good neighbors and reliable partners who are connected by “mountains and rivers.”
