Work is underway to provide all participants in the special operation with equal support measures. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, noting that there are a large number of volunteers and work on the formation of such formations needs to be organized.
“The President has repeatedly said that all participants in the special operation, whether they are career military personnel or volunteers in one or another volunteer formation, should equally enjoy all the social benefits that are provided for in this regard. <...> This work is carried out by a large number of volunteers. Naturally, this work needs to be organized, this work needs to be synchronized first of all with the Ministry of Defense,” he said.
Thus, Peskov commented on the details of the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and former chief of staff of the Wagner PMC Andrei Troshev, which took place on the evening of September 28.
During this meeting, Putin instructed Troshev to start forming volunteer units, noting his experience. “You know what it is, how it’s done, you know about the issues that need to be resolved in advance so that combat work goes on in the best and most successful way,” he said. In addition, during a conversation with Yevkurov and Troshev, Putin noted the need to observe the same social guarantees for both volunteers and regular military personnel. “For the country, for the Motherland, it makes no difference in what status a person fought and defended the Fatherland,” the president said.
