The Kremlin sees direct pressure on the CIS countries from the United States, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“Emissaries from Washington here are constantly harassing the countries of Central Asia, exerting direct, undisguised, rather aggressive pressure on these countries. <...> From our point of view, this is nothing more than interference in our bilateral relations with these countries,” he said.

The Kremlin representative clarified that, despite the presence of “hostile intentions” on the part of the United States and Europe, Moscow continues to cooperate with the CIS countries, in particular with Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

In March, Peskov, in response to a question from journalists about the appointment of a special representative of the United States for interaction with the opposition in Belarus statedthat the United States continues to interfere “directly and indirectly” in the internal affairs of states.

Then he noted that the Belarusian state is “stable, strong and capable of preventing those who want to interfere in their internal affairs.”
