“We see that the Kiev regime is inclined to continue this practice. And, probably, this determines the need to unconditionally continue the special military operation so that this threat is completely stopped,” he said.
Peskov added that air defense systems, as well as Russian security services, are “improving their methods of combating” drones. He expressed hope that in the future it will be possible to completely eliminate such threats, however, according to Peskov, it will be possible to exclude such attacks only if the special operation is brought “to a victorious end.”
According to estimates RBCsince the beginning of the special operation, the number of attempts to attack Russian territory using drones has exceeded 500. The largest attack in recent times occurred on August 30, when Kyiv tried strike five regions of Central Russia, including the Moscow region, as well as the Pskov region and Sevastopol.
In addition, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, regularly reports on the suppression of attacks on Moscow. Last time, Russian air defense forces destroyed drone on approach to Moscow on September 7. According to Sobyanin, the drone was shot down in the Ramensky urban district.
