Peskov spoke about the hostile reaction of the West to the visit of Xi Jinping

The reaction of Western countries on almost all issues is unfriendly towards Russia, the Russian-Chinese negotiations were no exception. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“As for the reaction of the countries of the collective West, in fact, on almost all issues, this reaction is unfriendly, deeply hostile – this is no secret to anyone, and the coverage of this important visit is no exception,” he said.

Peskov stressed that it is not the reaction of Western countries that is important, but the results of the negotiations between Russia and China. “The main thing is the results of the state visit itself,” he added.

The day before, March 21, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev declared, which is glad if the West is furious because of the negotiations between Russia and China. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov also noted that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping made Western countries nervous. According to him, “there is a reason for this”, since “the two great powers are solving the most important issues of world politics and bilateral relations.”

At the White House declaredthat China is not an impartial party in the situation around Ukraine, since Beijing “did not condemn” the conduct of the special operation and did not refuse to buy Russian energy resources. In addition, Xi Jinping has never spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky yet, but he flew to Moscow, Washington added. At the same time, the visit of the President of China to Russia will not affect relations between the United States and China, the White House noted.

On March 20, Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow for a three-day visit. On the same day, the Chinese President had an informal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed the situation in Ukraine and in the world.

The main program of the visit took place on March 21. First, the leaders of the two countries held talks in a narrow format, and then continued the meeting with the participation of the delegations of Russia and China. According to Putin, the talks were successful and constructive. In total, the leaders communicated for more than 10 hours. On the morning of March 22, Xi Jinping left Russia.
