Russian President Vladimir Putin has earned a strong “background of trust” among the population, said his press secretary Dmitry Peskov at the Knowledge marathon, transmits “RIA News”.
Peskov spoke about the case when Putin, as prime minister, came to a village burned down due to natural fires and was able to convince the victims of the fire, who were in a difficult morale, that in two months their houses would be restored, which subsequently happened. In order to have such a power of persuasion, Peskov is sure, it is not enough just to figure out what is realizable and what is not, it is necessary to earn a background of trust among people.
“Putin has this background – it is earned and very strong. People know that if he says it, he does it,” he added.
By data All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) on August 26, Putin’s trust rating was 81.2% (+1.2 percentage points for the week). The level of confidence in Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was 62.5%, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov – 36.7%, the head of the Just Russia faction Sergei Mironov – 31.5% of the respondents, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky – 17.5%, and to the chairman of the New People party Alexei Nechaev – 10.2%.
