Gorbachev’s policy was called criminal in Lithuania

The policy of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the first President of the USSR was criminal. This point of view was expressed by Defense Minister Arvydas Anushauskas, whose words are quoted by Delfi.
The head of the department said that Gorbachev gave orders to suppress the riots in Vilnius, Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku and other cities.
“There was no repentance. Such are the memories, although they speak of the dead either well or not at all. But not this time,” Anusauskas said.
He called the signing of the decree on the termination of the existence of the Soviet Union on December 26, 1991, the only positive moment of Gorbachev’s rule.
Mikhail Gorbachev died last Tuesday, August 30. He was 91 years old.
