Peskov positively assessed Roshal’s proposal to take wounded children out of Gaza

The Kremlin positively assesses the proposal of doctor Leonid Roshal to evacuate all children wounded in the Gaza Strip, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“Of course, such a call can only be assessed positively. Now, unfortunately, a humanitarian catastrophe is happening in Gaza,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin representative stressed that humanitarian aid must be delivered to the Gaza Strip, but trucks are not allowed through the Rafah checkpoint. According to Peskov, no more than two dozen trucks were allowed in, but people were not allowed out.

The situation in the region is catastrophic and could worsen with the start of a ground operation, Peskov added.

In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Roshal statedthat wounded children need to be taken out of Gaza in order to provide them with medical care in other countries. He noted that the Red Cross should deal with this issue.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel. The country’s defense army responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, striking hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war.

As a result of the fighting, according to the latest data, about 8,000 people were killed. According to Al Jazeera, more than 6,500 people were killed in the Gaza Strip, of which 2,704 were children. More than 17,400 people were injured.

October 24, international charity organization Save the Children reportedthat at least 2,000 children have been killed in Gaza over the past 17 days, and another 27 have died in the West Bank. Also, 27 children were killed in Israel. At the same time, 4,600 children were injured and could not receive proper care. Save the Children’s director in the Palestinian Territories, Jason Lee, called on all parties to take immediate action to protect children’s lives, and called on the international community to support these efforts.
