Peskov named the topics of Putin’s speech at the Eastern Economic Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) will touch upon the development of the Russian Far East and international cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. About it informed press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov in an interview with TASS.
“Traditionally it [Дальний Восток] the most important region for us. And the annual holding of the forum, the interest shown in this forum by both representatives of our business and foreign participants – this, of course, indicates that the region is of great interest,” he said.
Peskov noted that it is impossible to talk about the development of this region without reference to world processes. According to the Kremlin representative, a “big global storm” is now beginning, which is largely due to objective reasons, but it is also affected by the absurd actions of the US and European authorities.
“But against this background, we still manage to maintain macro stability. Very tense, thoughtful and consistent work is being carried out in this direction. And, for sure, this will also be discussed, ”Peskov said.
The presidential press secretary also noted that it is incorrect to say that Russia has begun a turn to the East and set priorities differently.
“No, the eastern direction, the Asia-Pacific region, has always been a very important component both for trade and economic relations, and in terms of our energy dialogue and so on,” he said.
VII Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 5–8, 2022 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, the forum organizer is the Roscongress Foundation. The plenary session with the participation of Vladimir Putin is scheduled for the morning of September 7. Delegations from more than 60 countries will take part in the forum. In 2021, the event brought together more than 4,000 participants from 58 countries, 380 agreements worth about 3 trillion rubles were signed on the sidelines of the forum.
