Peskov: involving the West in the conflict in Ukraine can only prolong it

The involvement of the West in the conflict in Ukraine can only stretch it out in time, declared Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
“Obviously, the degree of involvement – direct and indirect involvement – of the countries, as we say, of the collective West in this conflict is growing every day,” Peskov said.
The press secretary noted that Russia would continue the military operation and ensure its interests.
On May 24, the press secretary also noted the growing involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine. Then he gave an assessment of the actions of the Ukrainian side after the attack of saboteurs on the Belgorod region. According to him, it is no secret for Moscow that the armed forces of Ukraine are receiving “more and more equipment.”
In January, Peskov also noted strengthening the direct involvement of the West in the conflict in Ukraine. Then he commented on the information about the US supply of 31 M1 Abrams tanks.
“From European capitals, from Washington, statements are constantly heard that the sending of various forces of weapons, including tanks, to Ukraine in no way means the involvement of these countries or the alliance in the hostilities that are taking place in Ukraine. We categorically disagree with this,” Peskov said at the time.
Moscow has repeatedly warned about the negative consequences of sending military equipment to the Ukrainian army. Peskov said in this regard that the transfer of weapons would not fundamentally change the situation, but would “add problems” for Ukraine.
