Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov did not answer the question whether Yevgeny Prigozhin’s son Pavel really headed the Wagner PMC after his death. Speaking about the presence of Wagner in Syria, the press secretary said that in fact the PMC no longer exists, so any speculation about the presence of the group in Africa is not based on anything.

“This question is not for us. This is not our topic. And I don’t have any information here,” Dmitry Peskov replied when asked to comment on reports that the Wagner PMC was headed by Prigozhin’s son Pavel. The fact that Pavel Prigozhin headed the Wagner PMC, which became part of the Russian Guard, was reported on November 1 to the portal 59.ru reported representative of the “Wagnerites” in the Perm region.

November 2 newspaper The Wall Street Journal citing sources, reported that the United States received intelligence information about PMC plans to transfer the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system to the Lebanese Hezbollah group (according to NATO classification Sa-22).

“We have already said that de facto such a group does not exist, so all these arguments, as a rule, are not based on anything, have no basis,” Dmitry Peskov commented on the article. He also said that if anyone has a “founded concern” about this issue, the Russian military can be contacted through emergency communication channels.

Soon, a unit called the “Wagner Group” will be created in the Russian Guard, consisting of 20 thousand former PMC fighters. According to RTVI, negotiations with the department were conducted by 27-year-old Pavel Prigozhin. Some of the fighters, as the TV channel notes, became part of the Chechen special forces “Akhmat” subordinate to the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Defense detachments – “Redut”, “ArBat”, “Espaniola”.
