Peskov did not comment on Prigozhin’s statement about the lack of ammunition

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the statement of the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin about the lack of ammunition among the assault squads.

“Yes, indeed, statements are published in the media, but this topic, which still relates to the conduct of the NMD, is why I leave it to the Ministry of Defense. I recommend you go there,” he said.

February 20 Prigogine informedthat a number of problems with the provision of ammunition remain. He noted that Russia has weapons and that “industry has reached the required volumes.” Prigozhin added that he was unable to solve this problem, “despite all his acquaintances and connections.” The founder of Wagner said that requests for ammunition are written daily and transferred “to higher authorities”, but no decisions are made in this direction.

February 21 at the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported about the regular supply of ammunition to the volunteers of the assault detachments. According to the agency, from February 18 to February 20, 2023, volunteers received 1,660 rockets for multiple launch rocket systems, 10,171 ammunition for large-caliber cannon artillery and mortars, and 980 ammunition for tanks. The ministry emphasized that all applications are processed “as soon as possible”, for 2022 the assault squads were provided by 140%.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

The fighters of the Wagner PMC actively take part in the battles with the Ukrainian troops, its attack aircraft have already managed to achieve the control of several settlements, they are currently involved in the battles for Artemovsk (the Ukrainian name is Bakhmut).
