Contacts between the Russian and North Korean sides are not a sensation, but a tradition, since the DPRK is Russia’s closest neighbor. Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters about this on Friday.
“There is no sensation, because North Korea is our closest neighbor, naturally we are interested in building, developing relations with our neighbors, and doing this in all areas,” the Kremlin official noted.
In addition, Peskov added that no agreements were signed with the DPRK, there were no such plans.
Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia on September 12 on a special train. First, at the Khasan station in the Primorsky Territory, he was met by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov. The next day, the North Korean leader met with Putin. During the visit, the heads of state also held one-on-one conversations.
