Peskov called Zelensky’s statement about a new mobilization in Russia untrue


Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the recent statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the alleged mobilization being prepared in the Russian Federation. In the comments TASSMr. Peskov called the words of Mr. Zelensky untrue.

Vladimir Zelensky claims that Russia plans to carry out a new wave of mobilization in June. According to him, the Russian government is allegedly going to mobilize 300 thousand people. Russia has such plans denied Head of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov. According to him, the Ukrainian leader “has not been adequate for a long time,” and his words should not be trusted.

Commenting on Mr. Zelensky’s words, State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulev said that all personnel needs are now covered by volunteers. Therefore, he argues, there is no need for a new mobilization. According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the year, 100 thousand people have gone to serve under a contract.
