“The statements of Western countries are completely obvious. There are no statements from doctors, no information from forensic experts, no final information from the Federal Penitentiary Service, no information about the causes of death. And there are such statements. It is obvious that they are absolutely rabid. We consider such statements absolutely unacceptable. They are unacceptable. This is how we treat them,” said Mr. Peskov.
Earlier, President of the European Council Charles Michel said that the European Union “holds sole responsibility on the Russian regime” for the death of Alexei Navalny. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia must answer all questions regarding the death of the opposition leader. US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken also blamed Russia.
Today, February 16, in the afternoon, the FSIN department for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported that Alexei Navalny became ill during a walk and lost consciousness. Doctors pronounced him dead. The Public Monitoring Commission for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported that there were no health complaints from Navalny.
